listening: bbc world service It is the long weekend. Tomorrow is a holiday. They call it Heritage Day here. They call it the Civic Holiday out east. I call it the I Choose To Work Because I Need the Money Like You Don't Know and I Don't Even Know What the Hell We're Celebrating and I Don't Think Anyone Else in this Country Knows Either Day. The city reeked of a serious ghost town flavour, even moreso than usual:
