I think this is the longest time I have voluntarily spent away from the Internet since 1995. One week. If you'd posed this idea to me a year ago, I would have been rocking in a fetal position at the thought of it, but I've managed to actually stay away from these computers for a full freaking week! And I'm not feeling empty! Something strange is afoot at the Circle K, my friends. Something strange is definitely afoot. There is too much to recap, but I just want to say that I think my job will be kickass in the weeks to come. It is pretty much at the stage of ass kicking right now, but I'm still in hardcore training stage so I'm not doing much but reading a lot and making small talk with travellers about where they're going and where they've been. Not too shabby. There's way too much to learn though, and in this first week I've tackled only the peach fuzz of the whole body. Phooph. I saw Lost In Translation at the cinemas. It made me feel like I was travelling again, being in a foreign place, meeting up randomly with people who have this superficial-outcast-sort-of-bond with you, going out all night and just going with the flow, about relationships and how when you need people the most, it's always the time when they're least willing to listen. It was such a special movie to me on many personal levels in my life, and I know I'm sounding all pompous about it, but it gave me closure in a way.
Weep. Scarlett Johanssen has kicked the arse again. Oh, and I've signed up for those improv classes. Just with an adult continuing education branch. Should be fun.
And I feel fine....... - 2004-02-23 |
