Perhaps I had a miserable youth But somewhere in my wicked, miserable past There must have been something true..." Yearly ritual: The Sound of Music at Christmastime. Captain von Trapp and Maria are sitting in front of the gazebo. I went to the gazebo in Salzburg and they had it all chained up because an elderly couple had tried to reenact the scene and ended up falling. Damn old people. I've seen this movie way too many times. Sigh. This is a shattering month of earthquakes. The New Caledonia Island had a 7.0 earthquake. Living right on a fault line doesn't seem altogether comforting right now. I still quiver, thinking about a potential tidal wave. How unbelievably rotten that would be. But I was in Whistler and kinda taken away by the fantasy of it all. Had to spend a little bit of money for once. BULLETIN BULLETIN BULLETIN I AM GOING TO PARIS in March! Turns out my friend's grandfather has died and now she has a house in Paris all to herself for four months. This is where I enter the picture and bum some free accommodation in a place I never really had on the top of my to-do list. But I'm taking it, baby. PHWOAR! Now, off to finish Jacob's Ladder, where I will dive deep into Tim Robbins' cavernous dimples and float off into dreamland. PHWOAR!
