Work Fests and Video Fests
2003-09-14 | 10:05 p.m.
Burn. I had just finished scripting a lengthy entry and all of a sudden an error message interrupts my previously problem-free Internet time. I am thisclose to tossing CPU and all out the window. THISCLOSE. But... alas. Anger Management enters now.

1. Happy belated birthday to k8! I remembered! Just a little late! Didn't have time to update on Thursday!

2. Why is it that the last three boys I have been moderately interested in are gay? Life has been tossing the wrong bone in the lust department. Wrong bone.

3. Ex-boyfriend and ex-fling from year 2000 sent emails on SAME DAY. Coincidence? I think not. OK, maybe it is a coincidence and they both just happen to be bored as bunkum. Like the rest of the breathing world.

Work has been an eye-burning blur of training manuals, insurance policies and product information. I am beginning to cope with the stagnancy of the permanent-job-ed, and only because the working conditions are decent, I get a decent benefits package and can finally go to the dentist after a long, long, long (a frighteningly long) hiatus, the occasional travel discount and - get this - training sessions in L.A., where they will jet me over there, all expenses paid, to wine and dine me and the other newbies. This probably won't take place for another half year or so, but the excitement is building. I'll take what I can get.

I just attended the Indie Music Video Festival. Had it not been for Pilate's "Alright" video, I would have thrown my papers in the air and given up on life. The Salteens also played and they were cute. I couldn't take my eyes off the piano player; she had the most perfect skin tone, cute hair, wonderful eyes, mouth, cheekbones... if anyone needed a muse, I think she would be the universal one. For the quirky indie-set. Sigh.

PS. Where did deadmedia go, sam?
